The Midtown Men Bring "Sixties Hits" to The Carson Center

thecarsoncenter.org

Experience a night of 60s nostalgia this Friday at The Carson Center with The Midtown Men, four stars from the original Broadway cast of Jersey Boys. They reunited to sing their favorite songs of the sixties from The Beatles, The Four Seasons, The Rascals, Motown, The Mamas & The Papas, The Ronettes and Dusty Springfield. On Sounds Good, Tracy Ross speaks with Michael Langoria about how the group got together and what it's like bringing the Sixties to life.

Cast member Michael Langoria said the group reunited after concluding their run of Jersey Boys on Broadway. Initially, they sang Frankie Valli songs for private groups, but quickly realized the demand for their presentation and formally became The Midtown Men, expanding their catalog to a variety of sixties songs. Now in their fifth year touring, the seasoned vocalists have included "girl groups" into their set-list, with the likes of The Ronettes and Dusty Springfield. Including Jersey Boys, the group has been together for over 10 years. And this, Langoria says, is a camaraderie you can see on stage.

Langoria says this nostalgia-fueled evening includes songs like "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Sherry," "Bye Bye Baby," "Happy Together," "Groovin'," "Get Ready," hits by Jackson 5, The Zombies and many others.

The Midtown Men is Friday, January 16 at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $32-52.
