The Savage Radley Wins WKMS Battle of the Bands 2016

A huge congratulations to The Savage Radley, winners of the WKMS Battle of the Bands 2016 Competition Thursday night at Maiden Alley Cinema!

Thank you to our finalists, all of the bands that participated, everyone who voted and our competition co-sponsors. 

THE SAVAGE RADLEY:

The Savage Radley is a Murray-based Delta folk duo comprised of Shaina Goodman on vocals/guitar and Stephen Montgomery on drums. Their debut album, Kudzu, will be available late April 2016, and speaks to Shaina’s hometown of Hickman, Kentucky on the muddy banks of the Mississippi.

  • Spotlight on the band at wkms.org and in other press releases, publicity materials, etc. sent to newspapers, magazines, websites and more around the region. And we send your song/info to arts partners who book acts in our area to hype you up!
  • 75 underwriting spots on WKMS to use to promote upcoming shows, CD releases, band Facebook pages, etc. throughout 2016.
  • A full (1) year slide at Maiden Alley Cinema promoting your band.

This year, we received 26 submissions. The top eight, chosen by WKMS judges, moved forward in a semi-finals competition, where listeners voted for the four finalists. On March 31 at Maiden Alley Cinema, the four finalists competed and the live audience determined the winner. Thank you to all of the bands who submitted entries.
