April is National Poetry Month!
Hear Poetry Minutes on WKMS weekdays in April at 8:30 a.m. during Morning Edition, approximately 11:20 p.m. during Sounds Good and at 4:18 p.m. during All Things Considered.
This year, kids from Mrs. Hope Foster’s 7th grade classes at Murray Middle School wrote short poems inspired by images of people with disabilities. WKMS had the opportunity to record the students reading their own creative works.
These Poetry Minutes were made possible through an Arts Access Grant to the Calloway County Endowment for Health Care from the Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, with support from Murray State University’s Department of Educational Studies, Leadership, and Counseling.
