A local man known as a ‘bluegrass entrepreneur’ died Monday at the age of 70. Bluegrass Today reports that Tony Williams was a consistent figure at the annual IBMA World of Bluegrass convention, ran a company that created light-weight instrument cases and spent many years booking acts for small venues in Kentucky.

Williams is also the father of three-time IBMA Guitar Player-of-the-Year Josh Williams. He died from post-surgical complications after a procedure on June 5th that later resulted in sepsis and multi-organ failure. Visitation is tomorrow (Wednesday) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
