Murray State Professor to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Maribeth Crawford

A Murray State University music professor will perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York City this month for the Distinguished Concerts International New York.

Maribeth Crawford--a soprano--is one of four soloists performing the requiem Mozart wrote on his deathbed. Crawford said a requiem is a mass for the dead and is usually written to commemorate someone’s life. She said it’s the first time she will be performing at the famed concert venue.

“It’s one of those things that everybody wants to do and so I guess it’s just kind of a bucket list opportunity,” Crawford said.

The concert called ‘Perpetual Light: The Requiems of Mozart and Duruflé’ is on Feb. 19.
