An industrial park in Hopkinsville is now state certificated in an effort to attract a large-scale business. The Cabinet for Economic Development named a 22-acre portion of the Commerce Industrial Park a ‘Build-Ready’ site Friday.

The program streamlines the process for companies to locate, build and begin operations.

The industrial park has a 200,000 square foot pad designed for a 50,000 square-foot building. The site meets the required permits, has filed renderings and studies and is equipped with utilities.

Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the certification makes the site more marketable to prospective businesses.

The Build-Ready program began three years ago and has 10 certified locations in the commonwealth.
