Calling All Nuns and Gangsters for the Casting of
Playhouse in the Park’s Production of
Sister Act the Musical

Verse/Chorus or no more than 1.5 minutes of a song of your choice - Song must be sang with either accompaniment track (Bluetooth Speaker will be provided) or with piano (accompanist will be provided for the audition if using sheet music). The selection should be in the style of the character/role the actor wishes to portray in the show, but not a selection from the show. The selection does not have to be a Broadway or musical theater piece but should be in the relative range of the character/role the auditionee is interested in portraying in the show. For example, Delores' character is based on the early girl group leaders like the Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas, etc.

Script Reading - Sides will be selected for character/role consideration so be prepared to do cold readings from the script. You will have a few minutes to read through the side before acting alongside others auditioning for the production staff.

Movement/Dance - there will be a movement/dance portion of the audition with the choreographer(s). This portion of the audition will probably be taught in a group setting and then split into smaller groups for the production staff to consider. There is a strong suggestion to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move as well as comfortable shoes for the audition.
