Join us for an unforgettable journey back in time as we explore the lives of David Crockett and other early settlers of West Tennessee. This year, we’re thrilled to announce an expanded celebration with our three-day homestead and heritage festival.What to Expect:Historical Demonstrations:

  1. Watch skilled craftspeople showcase traditional frontier skills.
  2. Experience hands-on activities designed especially for students on Friday.
  3. J.C. Stahlman’s “Living Historians” group will activate the park offering a variety of Pioneer lessons and demonstrations throughout the three day festival

Live Music:

  1. Enjoy the sounds of live bluegrass music that will set the perfect atmosphere for the festival.
  2. Those interested in participating in the “Jam Session” led Mulberry Jam can receive free admission when bringing an instrument. Find out more on here.

Marketplace:

  1. Browse through a vibrant marketplace filled with talented artisans offering unique handcrafted goods.

Eats-n-Treats:

  1. Enjoy homemade beef stew and chili, available for purchase, the ideal treat on a cool fall afternoon.

Living Historians

Experience history brought to life throughout the festival weekend.
J.C. Stahlman’s Living History Group presents engaging historical interpretations representing the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, Pioneer Life, the Early Republic, David Crockett’s Alamo, the Civil War, and World War II. Each encampment offers an authentic look into the daily lives, tools and stories of those who shaped our nation’s past. These living historians will be on site Friday and Saturday in The Settlement from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be here on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Musical Entertainment

Enjoy live music in The Settlement throughout the weekend.Friday

  1. Brent Hopper – 10:30 a.m. to 11 and noon to 1 p.m.
    A talented bluegrass and Americana musician, Brent Hopper shares the timeless sounds of the region through heartfelt vocals and skillful guitar and fiddle work. His performances showcase storytelling through song, connecting audiences to the traditions that shaped Tennessee’s musical roots.

Saturday

  1. Ralston Station – 11 a.m. to noon
    A Martin, Tennessee–based bluegrass band bringing more than 20 years of traditional sound and lively harmonies to stages across the region.
  2. Mulberry Jam – 2 to 3 p.m.
    Mulberry Jam is a five-piece band, out of the Memphis area, that plays period songs of the past with traditional instruments and arrangements of the string dance performers of the 19th and early 20th century.

Sunday

  1. Bluegrass with Kevin Moore – 2 to 3 p.m.
    Join Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist Kevin Moore, known for his work with the Gaither Vocal Band on fiddle, violin, guitar, mandolin and banjo. He’ll be joined by Holden McConnell of South Fulton on instrumental accompaniment and Tyler Sherwood of Union City on vocal.

History Talks

Hear interesting stories about early America culture. 

  1. Scott Williams – 1 to 1:30 p.m. Three Steamboat Stories That Changed America
    Join author and Discovery Park CEO Scott Williams for a fast-paced 20-minute journey down the Mississippi River, where steamboats transformed America’s frontier. From David Crockett’s own river adventures to the Robert Fulton’s invention of the commercial steamboat that opened up trade and travel, and finally to the tragic explosion of the Sultana—America’s worst maritime disaster—these stories reveal how the river shaped our nation’s history and culture.
