History on Tap: Hopkinsville's Jewish Community

History on Tap: Hopkinsville's Jewish Community

This month's History on Tap will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 6:30pm at Hopkinsville Brewing Company.

Brett Pritchett, the Museum’s new Learning Coordinator, takes a look at Hopkinsville’s historic Jewish community. From the late 1840s through (at least) the 1970s, Hopkinsville boasted a small, but thriving, Jewish community. Establishing themselves as a formidable merchant class, local Jewish people constructed a synagogue - Temple Adath Israel - and established a cemetery on Hope Street. Join us to learn about our local Jewish community and the legacy that they left.

History on Tap is a free series that seeks to share local history in a relaxed, fun setting. Programs are typically held on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at Hopkinsville Brewing Company.
