A self-taught artist and cabinet maker from Fulton, Kentucky, Henderson was an artist with a disability whose paintings and carved birds of the southern United States won accolades and fans among art collectors and others.
A launch party for this exhibit will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. with a short program discussing Henderson’s art with Discovery Park senior director of exhibits and collections, Jennifer Wildes. This event is FREE for all guests. Light refreshments will be served.

True crime fans are familiar with television's portrayal of coroners and their captivating investigations. In this presentation, McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton will discuss her unique vocation which encompasses both a twenty-five-year career as a funeral director/embalmer and now sixth year as Coroner. She will begin with a bit of history, discuss correct terminology, share facts and clear up myths. Amanda will discuss the timeline and protocol for processing physical and digital evidence uncovered at the scene. Important information will be shared about grief, protecting the dignity of those we serve, and the unavoidable emotional toll of this career.
It’s guaranteed that an interesting question and answer session will take place after her presentation. Her unique credentials make this a “don’t miss it” opportunity.

Amanda Melton was re-elected to her second term as McCracken County Coroner in November 2022. She was recently selected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Coroner Association. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Southern Illinois University, Amanda holds a degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service. Upon graduation from SIU, she was named the top mortuary student in the state by the Illinois Funeral Directors Association.
Amanda is a Kentucky licensed funeral director/embalmer in McCracken County, having worked at area funeral homes (Roth Funeral Chapel & Milner & Orr Funeral Homes) for over twenty-five years.

The popular Singer-Songwriter Night featuring Phillip Coleman and friends returns to Discovery Park on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Coleman’s special guests will be Leslie Satcher and Carolyn Dawn Johnson. The performances will take place in Discovery Park’s ATA Traveling Exhibit Hall with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
The Calloway County Master Gardeners present its 2024 series of Thursday Night Talks, held monthly from March to October at the Calloway County Extension Office Meeting Hall (93 Extension Way, Murray). Kick-off Rhythm on the Rails festival with an incredible lineup of musical talent. Opening night will feature two acts that were recently featured on reality singing competition shows. Olivia Faye will be returning to the Total Tech Solutions Stage after recently being recognized as one of Nashville’s best-up-and-coming talented artists.
Performing at Rhythm on the Rails for the first time ever, The Dryes is sure to kick-off the summer concert series in a big way. This married duo was on team Blake on season 22 of “The Voice” and was named a “promising new country duo” by the “Today Show.”
Each Friday night will feature a “themed” menu. Opening night’s cuisine is Mexican food serving up speciality nachos. Hamburgers, hot dogs and other snacks will be available nightly. Pair your food with a margarita or any delicious drink from the cash bar.
Families are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs and fishing gear. The gate near the Train Depot will open at 5:00 p.m., and music will begin at 6 p.m.
