A former Kentucky police officer previously accused of raping and assaulting a sex worker while investigating a human trafficking case is suing the commonwealth's attorney who looked into the allegation.
The Kentucky New Era reported Wednesday that ex-Oak Grove police Officer Benjamin Walden alleges Commonwealth's Attorney Lynn Pryor acted outside of her professional responsibilities during the case. The case was dismissed last year.
The lawsuit says Pryor's investigation humiliated Walden and ended his employment at the police department, among other claims. Pryor says the lawsuit is "completely unfounded."
It says Pryor showed the sex worker a photo of Walden to identify her attacker, violating a professional standard that prohibits the investigator from suggesting a specific suspect. It says the sex worker also filed false police reports in the past.
