Murray State officials have named a new Acting Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Renae Duncan currently serves as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education.
"Dr. Duncan has a record of being approachable, open and transparent and I know she will continue to build on the efforts of the Provost’s Office in this regard," said MSU President Bob Davies in an email to the university. "I have also been impressed by her ability to bring forward new ideas and thoughts that will be instrumental in our current planning processes."
She will take over for current Interim Provost Dr. Tim Todd who is returning to his previous role as Dean of the College of Business.
Todd was named Interim in July, 2015 after Jay Morgan left the university to work with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
Dr. Robert Pervine, Associate Provost for Graduate Education and Research, will take on additional duties in the Provost’s Office to assist with the transition.
Duncan will assume her new role April 1.
Davies says, assuming a budget is passed in the state legislature, the plan is to start a search for a permanent Provost in July.
