Tennessee Standardized Testing Contractor: No Guarantee on Delivery of Tests

A new standardized test in Tennessee plagued by delays has hit another setback. Measurement Inc. was contracted to craft the TNReady exam, but CEO Hank Scherich says he can’t guarantee all students will receive materials in time to take the test.

TNReady was originally arranged to be taken online in February. However, significant computer glitches prevented some from accessing it.

After state education officials ordered it be administered on paper, Scherich said the company has been scrambling to print and ship five million tests.

The state awarded the company with a contract of more than $107 million, but only $1.6 million of that has been paid.
