Tuesday Update: Murray State's Vice President of University Advancement is leaving for The University of Toledo in Ohio. UT announced on Tuesday Adrienne King will join as associate vice president of marketing and communication on January 7.
UT President Sharon Gaber said in a release, "Adrienne’s experience and passion for higher education will provide strong leadership to help advance our efforts to better tell the UT story and elevate the University’s reputation."
King joined Murray State in 2015. She has overseen university marketing, branding and fundraising efforts, a rebranding campaign and led crisis communications following a dorm explosion.
King said in an email to Murray State staff on Monday that she is resigning from her current position on January 3. She marks MSU's fourth administrative departure in recent months, following president Bob Davies, athletics director Allen Ward and enrollment associate Vice President Fred Dietz.

Murray State’s Vice President of University Advancement is resigning after three years in the position.
Adrienne King said in an email to university employees Monday, which was obtained by WKMS News, that her resignation is effective January 3.
King’s email did not detail her reason for resigning. She was recently a finalist for a similar position at Utah State University.
Her resignation marks Murray State’s fourth administrative departure in recent months, following president Bob Davies, athletics director Allen Ward and enrollment associate Vice President Fred Dietz.
King did not immediately respond to request for comment.
