UT Martin Fraternity Suspended For “Possible Hazing And Other Violations”

UT MARTIN LOGO, UTM.EDU

The University of Tennessee Martin has placed a fraternity on interim suspension.

UT Martin said on Friday they are investigating Sigma Alpha Epsilon for “possible hazing and other violations.”

The national chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon also suspended the school’s fraternity this week while they conduct their own investigation.

A release from UTM said violations of university policy and student conduct were reported to have begun in September, but details of the activities did not become known to university officials until this week.

The incidents occurred off campus and no injuries were reported.

The chapter can appeal sanctions by the Office of Student Conduct once the investigation is complete.
