NWS: This Month Wettest August on Record in Paducah

The National Weather Service in Paducah says this month is already the wettest August on record. As of Thursday, Paducah had more eight inches of rain when normal rainfall is 2.76 inches. 

It’s also quickly becoming one of the wettest summers on record.

NWS tweeted Friday that 29 stations around the region have reported more than 20 inches of rain this summer, when normal rainfall is between 10 to 12 inches. In Paducah, total summer precipitation thus far is at 17.92 inches. 

1958 holds the record for wettest Paducah summer at 22.45 inches.

Weekend Weather Outlook:

Another round of storms are possible Saturday, some storms could be severe with locally heavy rainfall and lightning as primary concerns. Sunday, however, will be mostly sunny with highs around 80.
