"Ned" Breathitt, was newly in office for the 1964 March on Frankfort that was celebrated in a 50th Anniversary March today (March 5). Kentucky Public Service Commissioner Linda Breathitt's father, the late Edward T. "Ned" Breathitt was a Hopkinsville native who served as Kentucky's governor from 1963 to 1967 after serving three terms in the Kentucky General Assembly. He passed away at age 78 in 2003 - after collapsing while giving a speech at a UK Lexington Community College event.
