Former President Bill Clinton will return to Kentucky next week to continue campaigning for democratic US Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes.

Clinton will join Grimes Tuesday at rallies in Owensboro and Paducah.

This will be the third time the former democratic president has campaigned for Grimes. He's previously given his support to the Kentucky Secretary of State's senatorial campaign in February and August of this year in Louisville and Hazard respectively.

Former US Senator and potential presidential candidate Hilary Rodham Clinton appeared at a Grimes rally in Louisville on Wednesday.

Grimes is challenging incumbent Republican Minority Leader Senator Mitch McConnell. Earlier this week, the candidates participated in their first debate before the November 4th election.

On Tuesday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee announced it will no longer air Grimes TV ads after spending more than $2 million in the state. although it will still fund get-out-the-vote initiatives.

Next Tuesday, Bill Clinton will be at the Owensboro Convention Center at 3pm and McCracken County High School at 7pm.

Clinton carried Kentucky, a typically red state, both times he ran for president in 1992 and 1996.

Clinton was last in the western Kentucky area when he spoke in Murray  in support of his wife Hilary when she ran for the democratic presidential nomination in 2008.
