The Paducah City Commission has approved a resolution to provide funding support for a second annual quilt show.

Paducah already gives the American Quilter’s Society $25,000 a year to market its spring quilt show, which attracts more than 30,000 visitors annually. The resolution approves an additional $25,000 for each fall quilt show.

“This additional show would lead to a greater return on the investment the city has and will continue to have on convention space” City Manager Jeff Pederson said.

AQS will run the second show from 2017 through at least 2019. The money is provided to AQS through a contract with the Paducah-McCracken County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
