Lexington Mayor Jim Gray will be in Murray Friday ahead of next Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Kentucky’s U.S. Senate seat currently held by Rand Paul.
Gray will be at GigabitesCafé and Deli at 9 a.m. as part of a western Kentucky swing that will also take him to Hopkinsville and Paducah later in the day. The Hopkinsville stop will be at the League of Women Voters' candidate luncheon being held at the First Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. Details for Gray's Paducah appearance have not been finalized, but it will take place around 4 p.m.
Gray faces five other Democrats next week, while Paul has two Republican primary opponents. The winners will face off in November.
