State Auditor Mike Harmon’s office says it is referring its findings of a review into the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources over to the Kentucky State Police and Kentucky Branch Ethics Commission.
The fiscal year 2015 audit of the agency was released Wednesday. The report highlights an internal investigation in January that discovered more than $90,000 in fishing and game license fees had been misappropriated over a period dating back to 2007.
According to the KDFWR, the discrepancy was due to a single employee, who has since been terminated following a state police investigation and no permit or license holders were affected.
