Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin is auctioning off on eBay the chance to push the plunger to implode a 28-story government building.
Bevin said Tuesday the destruction of the 330-foot-tall Capital Plaza Tower will go to the highest bidder. The proceeds will benefit the #WeAreKy! Foundation, a charity for foster children founded by first lady Glenna Bevin.
The Governor’s office says the final bid will be tax deductible. The Capital Plaza Tower opened in 1972 and closed in 2016. It is the tallest building in Frankfort. The auction closes Saturday at 9 p.m. Central Time. The building will be imploded on Sunday at 12:30pm Central Time. The highest bid as of 12 p.m. Tuesday was $2,125.
