The City of Princeton elected a 24-year-old man as its new mayor tonight.

Dakota "Kota" Young beat incumbent Mayor Danny Beavers by 489 votes.

Young introduced a ten-point plan that he calls "A Plan for Princeton" as part of his campaign. This plan includes economic development, opportunities for youth and neighborhood revitalization.

Young graduated as valedictorian from Caldwell County High School in 2012 and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky at the age of nineteen before returning to Princeton.
