Governor Matt Bevin has ordered flags at state buildings to be flown at half-staff on Friday to honor two Kentucky servicemen killed in action during World War II and the Korean War.
Private First Class James Williams of Hopkinsville was killed in action in 1950 while serving in the Republic of Korea. His remains were identified in 2018 and he will be buried at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville on Friday.
Navy Seaman First Class Millard Burk Jr. of Pikeville died during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He will be buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii on Friday.
