Site work for the U.S. 51 Ohio River Bridge connecting Wickliffe and Cairo, Illinois, is set to begin this spring.
A release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet on Tuesday said the project team is currently creating concepts for the bridge.
The team is completing a structural analysis to determine if the bridge should be rehabilitated or replaced.
Public Information Officer Keith Todd in an email said some of the items on the timeline for 2020 have been moved back due to delays caused by river flooding.
Public meetings regarding the bridge will take place in August.
