Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett is urging voters to take advantage of Tennessee’s early voting period.
A release issued by Hargett’s office says early voting provides Tennesseans the opportunity to avoid election day crowds and endure shorter wait times.
Hargett also encourages Tennesseans to wear a face covering and maintain six-foot distance from others.
Coordinator of Elections Mark Goins said in a press release the state is providing masks, social distancing resources, gloves, gowns and face shields for poll officials.
Early voting for the Tennessee state and federal primary and county general election begins Friday and runs to Saturday, August 1. Election day is August 6.
