Calloway County Confirms Third Coronavirus Case

Creative Commons

The Calloway County Health Department is reporting a third confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in the county.

The department in a release Sunday said the person is a resident of Calloway County. No details regarding the person’s gender or age were immediately released.

The department is also tracking down who this person was in contact with to determine who may have been exposed to the virus. Those at risk of exposure will be monitored for symptoms.

The county confirmed a second case of COVID-19 on March 25. Calloway County’s first confirmed case of the coronavirus is connected to a Murray church service, where a visitor potentially exposed church members to the virus.

Symptoms of the coronavirus include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Those experiencing these symptoms are encouraged to call the county health department or a healthcare provider.

The department is recommending those with questions regarding coronavirus should visit kycovid19.ky.gov, or call the state’s hotline, 1-800-722-5725.
