Holyfield-Tyson II: The Sound and the Fury. There was a little bit of both that night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas; the night Iron Mike infamously chomped down on The Real Deal.
Some background: in their previous fight seven months earlier, Holyfield dominated Tyson. He was doing it again on this night. Tyson came out in the third round without his mouthpiece and a furious attack. Tyson rolled up next to Holyfield and bit off an inch of cartilage from his ear. A time-out was called to inspect the wound, during which the referee determined that Holyfield could continue to fight. When Tyson went for the other ear, the fight was stopped and Tyson was disqualified. Tyson's boxing license was temporarily revoked and he was fined $3 million dollars. In 2009, Tyson apologized to Holyfield on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Holyfield forgave him.
