From NPR: With the election over, attention in Washington has turned to the nation's debt and deficit challenges — most immediately the looming fiscal cliff. That's the $600 billion worth of expiring tax breaks and automatic spending cuts set to start taking effect Jan. 1.

Kentucky: Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway says the Election Fraud Hotline received 183 calls from nearly 60 counties on Election Day. The Governor's Task Force on the Study of Alcoholic Beverage Control Laws is scheduled to meet in Louisville today. Murray State Men’s Basketball player Zay Jackson may have serve up to a year in jail after a judge rejected a previous pretrial diversion deal. A panel discussion in recognition of the 40th anniversary of the Title Nine ruling was held yesterday at Midway College. Jerry Wayne Walker junior’sdefense attorney says they’re working with Commonwealth Attorney Mark Blankenship to reach a deal before Walker’s next trial date.

Tennessee: The Henry County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the possible theft of up to $40,000 by an employee at a Puryear business.

Illinois: Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has bought $20 worth of Veterans Cash lottery tickets and is calling on others to play the game which benefits military veterans in the state.
