Datebook: July 6 - Toolbox Gardening, Blood Drive, Free Sports Physicals

The McCracken County Master Gardeners host a free Toolbox Series event tomorrow night at 5 at the McCracken County Cooperative Extension Office. Norman Wallace speaks on "Growing and Using Winter Squash in West Kentucky." Learn about nutritional value, the ease of growing and storing, cooking ideas, and referrals to helpful resources. Squash plants are given away while supplies last. 

The American Red Cross hosts blood drives at the Robert Cherry Civic Center in Paducah this Wednesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The center is located at 2701 Park Avenue. For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate blood, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Murray-Calloway County Hospital offers free sports physicals to local middle and high school athletes this Saturday from 8 to noon in the Outpatient Surgery Area. Students must have a completed medical history form signed by a parent or guardian. For more information, call (270) 762-1832.
