Datebook: January 1 - Eagle Viewing Tour, Soup for the Soul, The Jungle Book

Land Between the Lakes offers an Eagle Viewing Van Tour on Saturday, January 9, from 1 to 4:30. The van tour visits eagle-viewing hotspots, where naturalists help visitors spot eagles and other wildlife, as well as zoom in with spotting scopes for a closer look. Registration is limited, with reservations and full deposits required. Dress for the weather. 

Soup for the Soul is a community soup kitchen in Murray funded entirely by donations. The kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at 411 Maple Street. Donations of food, money, hair nets, cleaning supplies, and paper towels are needed, and volunteer opportunities are available.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents “The Jungle Book” on January 31st at the Alhambra Theatre in Hopkinsville. The play is a musical adaptation of the classic tale by Rudyard Kipling. Area children are invited to audition on Tuesday, January 26th, at 4 p.m. at Belmont Elementary.
