Lake Barkley State Resort Park hosts a Second Saturday Guided Hike this Saturday morning at 10. The hike starts at the lobby of the park lodge, and no reservations are necessary. Sturdy, comfortable footwear is strongly suggested. The hike focuses on forest succession and the changing ecosystem.

The Gentry House in Murray is a transitional shelter that helps homeless families who may have suffered from domestic violence or lost jobs. They’re currently seeking donations of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper. Monetary donations are appreciated, and volunteer opportunities are available.
