Datebook 5/24: Summer Art Camp, Free Flags, Gentry House Needs

The Yeiser Art Center in Paducah offers a variety of Summer Youth Art Camps. Sessions are available for kids ages 5 to 12, with classes on clay, fibers, printmaking, painting, papier-mâché, folded paper sculptures, mixed media sculptures, dying, stamping, printmaking, collage, and more. American Legion Post 73 of Murray is providing free flags for marking veterans' graves for Memorial Day. The flags are available tomorrow from 1 to 4 p.m. American Legion Post 73 is located at 310 Bee Creek Drive in Murray.

The Gentry House in Murray is a transitional shelter that helps homeless families who may have suffered from domestic violence or lost jobs. They’re currently seeking donations of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper. Monetary donations are appreciated, and volunteer opportunities are available.
