Datebook 5/25: Wildlife Celebration, Kids' Fishing Tournament, Golf Scramble

The Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between the Lakes holds a Wildlife Celebration during Memorial Day Weekend. Special programs include visits with Smokey Bear, wildlife encounters, canoe trips, scavenger hunts, crafts, and more. Reservations are required for canoe trips. There's a free kids' fishing tournament set for Saturday, June 4, at Little Lake Park in Grand Rivers. The event is open to ages up to 12. Kids can bring their own equipment or use the provided poles and bait. Trophies are awarded by age group, and refreshments are provided.

There’s a four person golf scramble benefiting New Pathways for Children on Friday, June 10, at Drake Creek Golf Club in Ledbetter. New Pathways for Children is a home for children whose families are in crisis. Individual or team signups are available, and entry fees include the green fee and cart, lunch, prizes, and refreshments.
