Construction To Start On Paducah Interchange Project Near Mall

Construction on a double crossover diamond interchange project at Exit 4 in the Paducah mall area starts on Monday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says studies have shown that the $9.1 million highway project will reduce crash rates.

The project is expected to improve traffic flow along U.S. 60 through the commercial area west of the interchange, and will improve left turns from the I-24 ramps.

Initial work will take place at night, though some daytime and weekend work may be required. One lane will remain open at all times. Appropriate signage will be in place to guide motorists. Jim Smith Contracting is the prime contractor.

The project is expected to be completed by November.
