Former Christian Co. Schools Football Coach Arrested On Sex Charges Involving Minor

Christian County Detention Center

A former football coach for the Christian County School District is in jail on sex charges involving a minor.

The Christian County Jail website says Bryan Wimbleduff was arrested Tuesday afternoon at McDonalds in Hopkinsville. According to his Facebookand LinkedIn pages, Wimbleduff works there as a supervisor.

His charges involve felony offenses of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or prohibited activities and promoting a sexual performance by a minor. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of distributing obscene matter to minors.

A Hopkinsville Police report says Wimbleduff contacted a 15-year-old victim via Snapchat and requested photos of the victim’s penis and for the minor to masturbate in exchange for money. The report says Wimbleduff also sent a photo of his penis to the victim.

According to his Facebook page, Wimbleduff was director of football operations at Christian County High School and an assistant head football coach at the Christian County Middle School. School district spokesperson John Rittenhouse on Wednesday afternoon said Wimbleduff has resigned.

A cash bond is set for $15,000.

This story has been updated following a response from the School District to an inquiry as to whether Wimbleduff is still coaching.
