Reopening update from Graves County Schools

Graves County Schools reopen August 6 and plan to follow a traditional calendar year.

According to a statement released Wednesday, masks will be required when social distancing of 6 feet cannot be maintained, including on buses.

There will be temperature checks for all faculty, staff and students upon building entry and hand sanitizer stations will be placed at entry ways, restrooms, cafeterias and on buses.

The statement said parents must attest each morning that their student does not have a temperature above 100.4 degrees fahrenheit before the student can board the bus.

Superintendent Matthew Madding said schools plan to offer both in-person and online instruction opportunities. He said he does not anticipate major changes to bus route times.

Graves County Schools will distribute additional back to school information each Wednesday in July.
