The co-founder of the Discovery Park of America has died following a brief battle with cancer.
The Park said Jenny Kirkland will be remembered for her kindness, sweet nature and her “significant role in creating a place all of us here have come to love.”
She and her husband established the Robert E. & Jenny D. Kirkland Foundation which funded the construction of the $100 million dollar park that opened in 2013. Kirkland served as president of the foundation until her death. Robert Kirkland died in 2015.
Funeral services are at 3 pm on Wednesday at St. James' Episcopal Church in Union City.
