Murray State University will begin offering a master’s degree in cybersecurity management beginning the spring semester of 2020.

The university in a release said course topics will include information security principles, information security and risk management, incident response and digital forensics fundamentals.

The 30-hour credit program can be completed in as little as 15 months. In September, Murray State University’s Telecommunications Systems Management program was designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

The designation is meant to help address the shortage of cybersecurity professionals and build awareness about the industry.

Murray State’s designation will expire in 2024.
