Disaster Recovery Plans Available for Downtown Murray Businesses

Jason Pittman

Most downtown Murray businesses are open after Saturday’s building collapse, but road closures and safety concerns have led to talk of business disaster recovery plans.

Around 15 impacted businesses are currently waiting for a structural engineer's assessment of the property.

Murray State University's  Small Business Development Center director Chris Wooldridge says owners should make sure to stay in contact with suppliers, manage their business' message and manage cash flow.

Wooldridge said owners of older buildings should consider getting their building inspected in order to avoid a similar disaster. Wooldridge said to contact  Murray Main Street for more information on the disaster recovery plan.
