WKDZ-WHVO Broadcaster and Owner DJ Everett Dies

Local radio station owner and Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame inductee DJ Everett has died.

According to WKDZ's tribute, the Hopkinsville native passed away at Jennie Stuart Medical yesterday afternoon.

Everett was the former president of Ham Broadcasting Company which owns and operates stations WKDZ in Cadiz and Hopkinsville’s WHVO. Under his direction, both stations received national and statewide recognition for news coverage and community service. In 2012, Everett was inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame.

Before his death, Everett transferred control of the company to the General Manager.

Funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
