An “Internet Purchase Exchange Location” is now in the McCracken County courthouse parking lot. The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department established the designated meeting point to offer a “peace of mind” when meeting a buyer or seller from an internet transaction.

The sheriff's department said in a press release, "when purchasing items from someone that is on the internet and it requires for you to meet that person somewhere, that is the part of the transaction that gives many people pause." There have been national instances of buyers and sellers getting robbed, they said. The parking lot is under 24-hour recorded video surveillance and a heavy law enforcement presence.

Existing resources were used for the space and the McCracken County Road Department provided the sign.
