Update: The contractor working on a portion of the I-69 corridor in western Kentucky was unable to install a temporary barrier last night as planned on the eastbound lane of I-24 in Marshall county Tuesday due to weather. The installation is now scheduled for 8 p.m. June 1.

A contractor working on the I-69 corridor in western Kentucky is closing a lane of I-24 in Marshall County tonight (Tuesday) at 8 p.m.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the right lane of I-24 east where the highway merges with the northbound Purchase Parkway at exit 52A will be closed until 6 a.m. Wednesday. The closure is to install a temporary concrete wall along the shoulder in preparation for the construction of a bridge.
Jim Smith Contracting Company of Grand Rivers is working on the more than 37-million dollar interchange. The target completion date for the new I-24/I-69 Calvert City interchange is July 1, 2018.
