Montgomery County Animal Care and Control rescued 54 dogs and two geckos from a house fire over the weekend.
Of the dogs rescued Saturday, 21 were puppies.
According to the organization’s Facebook page, 10 animals died in the fire.
The animals suffered a range of health issues from major issues blindness and heart murmurs to minor issues like fleas and overgrown nails.
Seven of the dogs are hospitalized from injuries in the fire and some from previous severe health conditions.
Some of the dogs will be made available for adoption Friday.
