A national health nonprofit has selected a West Kentucky Community and Technical College professor to serve as a delegate representing the state.
The American Physical Therapy Association elected Peggy Block of McCracken County, and seven other physical therapy professionals, for a two-year term beginning in January.
The APTA House of Delegates makes decisions on issues related to the physical therapy profession.
Block is the coordinator of WKCTC’s physical therapist assistant program.
In a release, she said she has been a member of APTA for more than 40 years. “With what we know about exercise and movement, and how it helps treat every disease, the more you know the better. And who better to get you moving than a PT or PTA. It’s a big deal to be a part of that," Block said.
Block has served as PTA program director for the past 25 years. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky and a master's in physical therapy from the University of Indianapolis.
