Media Release: Vote for Your Favorite in the WKMS Battle of the Bands

Murray, KY. In the crowning finale of its first Battle of the Bands contest, WKMS goes to the intimate music venue Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah on Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The four bands chosen as finalists perform live for the ticket-holding audience which will determine the overall winner.

Eight bands were chosen as semi-finalists from nearly 40 band entries from around the WKMS coverage area and beyond. The four finalists advancing to the Maiden Alley Cinema event will be selected from semi-finalists by online voting now open at wkms.org or at the WKMS Facebook post. Online listening and voting is open through midnight Wednesday, March 19.

The semi-finalists are: The Drunken Poets, Murray; Leonard The Band, Metropolis, IL; Float As The Ghost, Portland, TN and Bowling Green, KY; The Savage Radley, Murray; Gideon's Rifle, Paducah; JOANIE and The Missiles, Murray; Evan Webb Band, McClure, IL, Paducah, Caruthersville and Cape Girardeau, MO; Red Ember, Paducah.

Tickets for the finale on March 27 are $10 and can be purchased at maidenalleycinema.com. Only ticket holders at the finale will be eligible to vote to determine the overall winning band. Maiden Alley Cinema is at 121 Maiden Alley near the Riverfront in downtown Paducah.

The winning band receives a three-day recording session at King Sound Studio in Paducah and a live in-studio performance broadcast on WKMS during the mid-day music and community conversation program Sounds Good.
