A Party For You! Donor Appreciation Week events

WKMS is made possible by listener donations. So the first week of August, we're celebrating all of you that have kept WKMS on the air this year!

We'll have thank you messages on-air all week long and two FREE special events for listeners:

AUGUST 2: Appreciation Party @ PBW

WHERE: Paducah Beer Werks, 301 N. 4th St, Paducah, KY 42001

WHEN: 6 to 8 PM

WHO: You!

WHAT: Come hang out with WKMS hosts, staff and other fans of NPR as we say thanks to the donors across our region who make public radio great!

We'll have live music from Fate McAfee & Melanie Davis, appetizers by Paducah Beer Werks, games and giveaways, and maybe even a special public radio brew. Or you can try a flight of All Beers Considered.

It's a fun, free way to celebrate your love of listening. And thanks to our amazing friends at Paducah Beer Werks, 10% of all bar sales go to support the station. Now that's what we call toasting to a good cause!

AUGUST 6: Station talk with Kentucky Capitol Reporter Ryland Barton

WHERE: WKMS Studios (8th Floor, Murray State Fine Arts Building)

WHEN: 6pm

WHAT: After Fancy Farm weekend, catch up on state politics at this Meet & Greet with Kentucky Public Radio State Capitol Reporter, Ryland Barton. Talk Frankfort with Ryland, hear him answer questions about what it's like behind-the-scenes. See the WKMS studios and chat with other NPR fans. It's an evening for the newsies among us, and you're invited!

Asia Burnett is WKMS Station Manager.

Getting to interact with uniquely thoughtful and intelligent WKMS listeners and donors each day is the best part of her job. And to further public radio's incredibly important mission to provide free, accessible, fact-based news & information where it's needed most. You can find her grooving to Sounds Good or The Kitchen Sink, delving into the why of everything on Hidden Brain, or generally learning something new from WKMS. She also enjoys Farmers Markets, trivia contests and wonderfully weird local art.
