Kentucky Film Office

The bump in film production in Kentucky can be attributed to state lawmakers building up the commonwealth’s film incentives in recent years. Yet, some criticize the program for providing state funds to private companies with little return on investment.

The Kentucky Film Office recently launched its new website, creating an information resource for companies hoping to bring productions to the commonwealth.

In Kentucky, just two dedicated art house cinemas are still in operation following the recent closure of Louisville’s Baxter Avenue Theatres.

A Louisville native with experience working with major television and film networks and studios is now attached to direct the Kentucky Film Office, the state agency geared toward marketing the Bluegrass State to the entertainment industry.
