Nesler Takes Ag Department Post
By Associated Press
Retiring 2nd District State Representative Fred Nesler has left the legislature earlier than expected to take an administrative post with Kentucky’s Department of Agriculture.
Commissioner James Comer says he appointed the Mayfield Democrat to serve as deputy executive director in the Office of Strategic Planning and Administration. Comer and Nesler served together in the General Assembly for more than a decade. Both served on the House Agriculture and Small Business Committee. Nesler resigned his legislative seat May 31. He began work at the Department of Agriculture June 1.
