Hopkinsville International Festival Celebrates Global Heritage This Weekend

The Hopkinsville International Festival will be held March 7 from 4-8PM and March 8 from 10AM to 6PM at the James E. Bruce Convention Center. Parks and Recreation will host a "Creation Station" where participants can design their own kites. Other festival activities include a virtual Tour de France, multilingual stories, an international pageant, international food vendors, a photo booth, door prizes, and more. Christian County Chamber's Yasamin Ausenbaugh visits with Kate Lochte  on Sounds Good for a preview.

Majok Nhial Awuok recounts his journey of escape from civil war in Sudan as one of the 20,000 young boys who traveled over one thousand miles on foot across three countries seeking safety during four presentations at the Hopkinsville International Festival. Awuok's presentations will be given Friday, March 7, at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes. Admission is free. The event will be held at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
